Frequently Asked Questions
When can I bring items in for consignment?
The Top Drawer Consignment Boutique takes new consignments from Tuesdays to Saturdays, 10am to 5pm. We quickly make our selections and give you back what doesn't work for us. We ask that you bring in no more than 10 items per visit as your articles will be better showcased when the store is not overfilled. Please phone and we can make alternative arrangements with you if time or distance is a factor.
What kind of items do you take?
We are looking for gently used clothing that has been purchased within the last 2-3 years and must be in excellent condition, freshly laundered and on hangers or neatly folded. Discount brands, such as Walmart and Superstore, are not accepted.
How much do I get for my items?
You will receive 40% off the basic consignment price for items that sell in the 60-day contract period or you may convert your credit to 50% to cover in-store purchases.
When can I get the money that is owed to me?
You can pick up the cash we owe you at any time if the amount is $20.00 or less. Cheques are sent once a month for balances over that amount.
When do you switch seasons?
We switch to spring on February 15th, summer on May 15th, fall on August 15th, and winter on October 15th.
What happens to my clothes after 60 days?
You may choose to pick up any items that are unsold or have us donate them for you. Let us know your preference when you drop you clothing off and we will answer any other questions.
Who sets the prices for items?
The Top Drawer sets the prices. We price based upon supply and demand, season, brand, condition and what the market will bear. We know what our customers are willing to pay for items. We are in business together and we will price items as high as possible, yet still make them marketable.
